There is no one, all-embracing, widely-accepted conjecture of organizational form theory and no set agreed standards for actions by change agents. Differing hypothetic approaches have been developed to analyze organizational change bear upon and to deal with various range of problems affecting organizational slaying. Lewins change model, action research model, and positive model describes the phases by which change occurs in organizations. In this paper, the aim is to compare and stock these three models of planned change, while reflecting on changes made in an organization I am affiliated with, and make suggestions as to what I would do as the Organization reading Consultant. Lewins Change model or Three-Phase model (1958) main think is that an understanding of the critical steps in the change attend will increase the probability of successfully managing change. Lewin also argues that all improvement in group or individual performance could be prone to regression unless active measures are interpreted to institutionalise the improved performance level. Any subsequent behavioral or performance change must involve the three-phases of unfreezing the sit level, moving to a sweet level and re-freezing at the impertinent level.
Lewin argues that there are two opposing sets of forces within whatsoever social system; these are the driving forces that promote change and the resisting forces that maintain the status quo. Therefore, to unfreeze the system, the strength of these forces must be adjusted accordingly. In practice the emphasis of Organization Development Consultants has been to provide data to unfreeze the system by minify the resisting forces.
