Forced Learning Theory

In the article Forced Learning Theory, the write Nicholas Phillips states his opinion regarding bountiful learning. I agree with the rootage that constrained learning is a real issue. The article is more so ge ard toward the trainer/instructor, but does help the reader to empathize the issues associated with adult learning from the trainers perspective. My opinion is that adult learning should not be forced and should be a choice.
Mr. Phillips agrees somewhat with Malcolm K instantlyles, author of Informal bighearted Education (1950), The Modern Practice of Adult Education (1970), and The Adult Learner (1973). Malcolm Knowles was a pioneer of adult education and believed learning is self directed and that adult learners ar responsible. There are those who disagree that self direction begins with qualification a choice. This is where forced learning becomes a task for the trainer. The trainer responsibility is to get hold these two groups together to reach a common goal.
Malcolm Knowles opened up the eyes of adult learners and trainers and has created a lot of discussion on this topic. Of course, there are those who are going to argue and try to dispel earlier teachings.



The line forced learning automatically takes on a ostracise connotation being that adult learners are more seeming to participate and initiate in a learning surround versus those who feel that they do not have a choice.
