In the short story The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, the audience is tricked into believe that this is a happy story in a exact town, but soon find out it is far from that. The drafting is to see who delivers to be stoned to death. The story drop deads off by describing a beautiful day in the spring. Since the village is so small people will be able to go home for their lunch after the dieing off is done.
