This case, involves setting up of a joint venture (JV) between a Malayan company, Nora Holdings Sdn Bhd (Nora), and Sakari Oy (Sakari), a conglomerate from Finland. Nora is one of the leading suppliers of telecom solutions in Malaysiawhile Sakari has expertness in smooth phones, digital exchanges, is a niche doer in the globalswitching market, and has a major share of the Finnish mobile market. Nora submitted a bid for tenders that were floated by Malaysias national telecommunication company, TelekomMalaysia Bhd (TMB), to develop the countrys telecommunication infrastructure to halt hold withthe governments Vision 2020 program.
