Planning is the first of the four traditional functions of management that directs the stage for the other three functions. This function is helpful to identify organizational goals, and the type of action required to achieve those goals. Planning is an ongoing consistent process that requires oft thought to be effective. A good strategic set of plans outlines the goals, the objectives, and the resources involve to acquire success in all projects of an organization.
In my line of work, the planning stage is a must.



Through meetings, and teamwork, a number of people on different levels of management set about goals and implement this function of management. These people can include some or all of the following people; the president, vice-president, chief administrator officer, chief operations officer, controller, accountant, public relations manager, sales manager, humane resources, and the board of directors.
Organizing, the second function of management is determined at one time the planning stage is complete. Organizing is assembling and coordinating the human, financial, physical, informational, and other resources needed to achieve goals (Bateman & Snell, 2009, p. 20).
