school and start implementing the techniques that I have learned in this class. I was intimidated when the class first started, because I had such a bad voice class bang before. Now, I do non want it to end. I am learning something new each day.
When I first entered into this class I was intimidated to speak . I know that a lot of my worries and frustrations came from my first experience in a voice class. However, when you came to class and said this is a place to grow I became more comfort up to(p). I really enjoyed your analogy of we are skillful adding on to our house. This encouraged me in so many ways; I did not feel I needed to miscellanea who I was, however I could just add to my gifts.
however though I have not been comfortable to fulfill in class, I am becoming more relaxed to do so. I have been so afraid to just let it go and explore. I know that one of the things that has been holding me back was my breath. I actually never realized exactly how essential the breath truly is to our performing. I knew it played a outsize role, but as an artist I never worked on it. When I started breathing and opening up my chest, so many cool things were able to happen. I had an ah-ha movement!
I did not realize I was holding in my chest and not allowing air travel to flow through. It hit me when we had to perform our monologues in acting class. The first time I performed the monologue something was just not right and I could actually feel it in my body. What I did to correct the issue was the optimal stance and I allowed the air to just flow. This actually calmed down my nerves and I was able to just be in the result. I felt the air flowing through my body to produce sound. As a performer and a teacher this was an extremely wonderful moment for me.
