Myles Ochoa 06/11/11 Dr. Regan EN 141- Imagining of Shakespe be Taming of the Shrew Shakespeares, The Taming of the Shrew, is a story of a womans transformation from a lonely shrew to an obedient and loving wife. The main characters in this play are Bianca, Katherine, Lucentio, and Petruccio. This play focuses on the two daughters of the merchant Baptista. The younger one, Bianca, in the beginning, is the complete opposite of her sister, Katherine. Bianca is soft spoken, kind, and unassuming, allowing her to be a satisfactory wife. Katherine, on the other gift, is quick- tempered, strong willed, and prone to violence, making her a difficult woman to marry. The problem that arises is, although Bianca is a viable scene for marriage, having many suitors, Baptista will not allow her to marry until Katherine is wed. later the reader gets a firm grasp on the female person characters in the play, Kate and Bianca, Shakespeare introduces two men who will vie for their hand in marriage; Lucentio and Petruccio.
