Out of the Storm was a fiction novel write by Patricia Willis. When Mandys father was killed in World contend II, her and her mother and brother, Ira, were force to move out of their home in Garnet creek and move to Parrish Grove to live with their grouchy aunt Bess. Mandy hated everything about Parrish Grove, but when trouble struck, it was Mandys cracking courage that started a new life full of hopes and dreams for herself, her family, and for a very important friend. The thesis in this story is that sometimes it takes something bad to make you see the good. This story was done in third-person. The setting of the story is in Parrish Grove, where the familys aunt Bess lives. Aunt Bess farm wasnt the greatest; the sandstone steps on the porch were virtually hidden beneath clumps of untrimmed shrubs…The porch was covered with junk, a scattered chair, some dead potted plants, a stack of bricks in the corner… The land where the sheep were was beautiful; a stream wandered elaborate the valley… at one point, the stream divided, flowing rough either side of a grassy rise, then convergency below it. The battered schoolhouse had a square doorbell tower but there was no rope for the bell.

But one day, during a terrible storm, the sheep got stranded on a little island because the water supply had risen too much.
